The Stars At Night Collection
Who else is a fall and Halloween Spooky season fan? In honor of this season my latest collection of jewels will be centered around local Fall colors and sustainablity. For this collection, I am using local Texas mined gemstones such as Llanite which is only found in Llano, Texas(blue and pink flecked stones), a Marfa Plume agate that looks like a Texas prairie landscape,Texas Moss Agates and Texas Sunrise Agates all found in the mountainous area of Big Bend and the Alpine region of Texas.
Each piece in this collection is one-of- a-kind featuring vibrant Fall colored Texas mined gemstones set in recycled sterling silver with a black patina finish.
The animal inspiration for this collection is all Fall here in Texas and will be featuring the Mexican Free-Tailed Bat that is the Texas state mammal. With one of the largest populations(1.5 Million) in North American residing under the Congress Street bridge in Austin, Texas. Its proclivity towards roosting in huge numbers at relatively few locations makes it vulnerable to habitat destruction in spite of its abundance as a species.
That is why 10% of the proceeds of this collection will be going to Bat World Sanctuary. Based in here in North Texas with rescue centers around the world, the organization is "dedicated to educating the community about bats to dispel myths and encourage conservation as well as providing rescue efforts for the species." It is the largest bat rescue center on the planet and we need to save our pollinators!!
